What is Togo leather?
Togo is a full-grain cowhide with a soft, pebbled grain. The grain hides small scratches and keeps its shape without feeling stiff. Our Classic Togo totes (Mini 20, 30, 35 and 40) are made from 100% genuine cowhide Togo leather. Read more in What Is Togo Leather?.
Which Simple Edit bags are genuine leather?
The Classic Togo totes (Mini 20, 30, 35 and 40), the Vertical Leather Totes, the Slouchy (Gold and Silver), the Soft Knot Chain Clutch (Small and Medium) and the Soft Knot Clutch (Medium, Strap) are made from genuine leather. Many everyday styles use PU, which is lighter and easy to wipe clean. Every product page lists the exact material under Details.
What is the difference between Togo, Epsom and pebbled leather?
Togo has a soft, irregular grain and relaxes slightly with use. Epsom is embossed with a fine, even grain and stays rigid. Pebbled is a broad term for any leather with a raised grain. Full comparison: Togo vs. Pebbled vs. Epsom.
Do your bags copy other brands?
No. Our bags carry no logos, monograms or trademarks of any other company, and we never sell them as another brand's product. Many classic shapes, like the structured top-handle tote or the bucket bag, have been made by many houses for decades. We make our own versions and price them without a brand premium.
Why are your prices lower than luxury brands?
We sell direct, with no department-store markup, and we don't pay for a famous logo or global flagship stores. What you pay goes to the bag itself and getting it to your door.
Fit & sizing
Will a laptop fit in the Classic 30?
No. The Classic 30 measures 11.8 W x 8.6 H x 6.3 D in, which fits a wallet, phone, small pouch and keys. For a laptop, choose the Classic 40, which fits most 15-inch laptops carried flat, or another larger tote such as the Suede Tote (Belted 15). Does the Classic 30 come with a shoulder strap?
Yes. It includes an adjustable, detachable strap, so you can carry it by hand or on the shoulder.
What sizes does the Classic tote come in?
Four, named by width in centimeters: Classic Mini 20 (7.9 in), Classic 30 (11.8 in), Classic 35 (13.8 in) and Classic 40 (15.7 in). All are 100% genuine cowhide Togo leather. Compare them in the Classic Size Guide.
Do the Classic 35 and Classic 40 come with a shoulder strap?
No. The Classic 35 and Classic 40 are top-handle bags, carried by hand or on the arm. The Classic Mini 20 and Classic 30 include an adjustable, detachable leather strap.
How do I choose between gold and silver hardware?
Gold reads warmer and pairs well with brown, tan and cream bags. Silver looks cooler and sharper next to black, grey and white. If you wear mostly one metal in your jewelry, match it. More in Gold vs. Silver Hardware.
Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Most orders arrive in 1 to 5 business days. Orders placed before 11:00 AM Pacific Time ship the same business day. Orders placed after 11:00 AM, on weekends or on holidays ship the next business day. We ship with USPS, and tracking is emailed as soon as your order leaves.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping is free on US orders of $99 or more. Below $99, USPS shipping (Ground Advantage or Priority Mail) is calculated at checkout from weight and destination.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not yet. We currently ship to addresses in the United States only.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email us as soon as possible. We can change or cancel an order until it ships. Once it has shipped, it can't be changed, but you can still return it under our return policy.
My package says delivered but I can't find it. What should I do?
Wait up to 48 hours, since carriers sometimes mark packages delivered early. Check with neighbors, building staff and other spots around your address. If it still hasn't turned up, email us within 7 days of the delivery date so we can open a claim with the carrier. Details in our Shipping Policy.
Returns
What is your return policy?
You have 365 days from delivery to return or exchange a bag. It must be unused and unaltered, with its original packaging (dust bag, tags, box). Email help@shopsimpleedit.com to start. Once approved, we send a prepaid return label. Full terms: Return Policy.
How do I get my refund?
After we receive and inspect the bag, we refund your original payment method. If you prefer, we can issue store credit instead, which is the fastest option. Store credit arrives as a gift card code you can enter at checkout.
Do you offer a warranty?
We don't offer a separate warranty. Every bag is inspected before it ships, and you can return any unused item within 365 days of delivery. If something arrives wrong, email help@shopsimpleedit.com with a photo and your order number.
Care
How do I care for a leather bag?
Keep it out of direct sun and away from heaters, wipe off water drops right away, and store it stuffed and in its dust bag. See How to Store Leather Bags So They Last a Decade.
How do I clean a PU or suede bag?
PU: wipe with a slightly damp cloth, add a drop of mild soap for marks, then dry. Skip alcohol cleaners. Suede: brush in one direction with a suede brush and keep it dry. Guides: PU bags, suede.
How do I clean an EVA beach tote?
Just rinse it. EVA totes are waterproof and washable. Rinse with water or wipe with a damp cloth, use mild soap for sand or sunscreen residue, and air-dry. No special products needed.
